I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Transformation at Arizona State University.

I am a black queer feminist who studies black feminist epistemologies, health prevention and intervention, loss, and black queer health. As a Black geographer, I research how Black queer communities understanding of loss emerge from limitations in health prevention technologies and biomedical interventions. I work to show how Black queer communities shape health. I am currently working on two projects. The first project is a queer of color critique of Public Health in particular response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The second project looks at the ways Black queers address violence through interventions that center the loss of loved ones.
